Lufthansa Plane Crash

          Most of us have heard about the plane crash in Europe.  Before getting more details, it was just thought that the plane came down for unknown reasons.  But, now we know that the co-pilot was the one who brought the plane down.  The co-pilots name is Andreas Lubitz.  The best theory of what happened is that the captain left the cockpit.  Upon leaving the cockpit, the co-pilot locked the door so the captain could not get in.  Then he put the lever on lock so that even if the captain entered the code to get back in, he could not.  Finally, all the co- pilot had to do was lower the altitude until the plane crashed.  He took the lives of 150 people from a total of 18 different countries.
          When I first heard this story, I just thought that the plane had a malfunction.  Maybe the engine died and the pilots could not save the plane.  But to hear that the co-pilot did it intentionally is horrific.  The pilots in Lufthansa do not have to go through a psychological test.  This means that if someone is ready to fly, and has the credentials, they can fly.  Andreas Lubitz was very qualified to fly this plane.  He passed all of the flying tests,  and medical tests.  But if only this man had a psychological test, maybe it could have shown that he was not mentally stable enough to fly a plane.  I feel for the families who have lost loved ones in this plane crash.  To learn more about the Lufthansa plane crash go to cnn.  http://www.cnn.com/2015/03/26/europe/france-germanwings-plane-crash-main/index.html

First blog: about me

Hello, my name is Jake Jarzynka and I am writing on my new blog called Jarz Jarz binks.  I attend Creighton Prep in Omaha Nebraska, and I am in the sophomore class.  I live in East Omaha with my parents and one brother.  I have lived in Omaha in one house my entire life.  My older brother is also a senior at Creighton Prep.  His name is Michael.  My family has one dog and it is a white retriever.  His name is Obi and he is about two years old.  The cats are named Kodo and Podo and they are about 15 years old.  I enjoy playing tennis in my free time.  Freshman and sophomore year I was on the jv tennis team for Prep.  My birthday is on March 17, so now I am 16.  I have my drivers license and I just started driving on my own.  It is really exciting to finally be driving without my parents.  My favorite food is any type of American Chinese food.  My family went to Hawaii a couple of years ago, and it was an incredible experience.  We stayed on the island of Oahu.  We did all sorts of fun stuff like swim at all of the different beaches and swimming with dolphins.  It was so much fun.  I will continue to blog on this account so be sure to follow me.
